A really amazing Gaiwan! The craftsmanship...

A really amazing Gaiwan! The craftsmanship is just outstanding. Fun to look at and to handle. We only drank one tea from it (a 2021 Gushu Sheng Pu Erh from Xiao Hu Sai village). And it was fantastic. The Dai Clay is very different from Yixing clays like duanni or zini. Also different from Jianshui which is also from Yunnan. It doesn't thicken the tea as much as those clays. How ever the mouth feel becomes a lot more lively, reminiscent of sezchuan pepper.
In terms of impact on the flavour. We found that it seems to mute the more fruity an floral top notes. Whilst accentuating the more spicy and mineral top notes. Additionally it seems to impart or accent some aging notes. The tea almost tastes a couple of years older from this gaiwan then it actually is.
